Our mission is simple:
Bring hope & build people
We accomplish this through….
Meeting basic needs like food, shelter, and medical care
Providing community, emotional support, practical tools for the future
Sharing the greatest gift of all — the Good News of the love of Jesus
Incarceration doesn’t only affect the person inside.
It impacts children, families, and entire communities for generations. That’s why our work takes us both inside and outside of prison walls throughout El Salvador.
Where We Serve
Prisons
We serve incarcerated men and women through the Gospel, discipleship, practical care, food, and development.
We also serve incarcerated mothers and their young children with food, essential supplies, and ongoing care.
Our desire is to see people know Jesus, grow in their faith, and begin building a different future.
Island Communities
Some of the communities we serve can only be reached by boat. Families face limited access to food, healthcare, and other basic resources, and many have also been affected by incarceration and family separation.
We serve these communities through supplemental food, medical care, children’s ministry, relationships, and the Gospel.
Urban Cities
In Cojutepeque, we are investing in children and families in a community that has experienced years of gang violence, incarceration, poverty, and family separation.
Through soccer, English classes, discipleship, mentoring, and relationships with families, we are creating a place where children can grow in their faith, develop new skills, and see a different future.
Our Approach
Gang violence, family separation, vulnerability, incarceration, and poverty create seemingly hopeless generational patterns for those in El Salvador. One life at a time, our non-profit is breaking the cycle through intentional efforts focused on the whole person.
Lives changed. Futures restored.
Meet a few local partners…
We believe lasting ministry happens through local relationships. Legado works alongside pastors, churches, and ministry leaders who know their communities, have earned trust, and are committed long term.

-
Through our partnership in Izalco, we serve mothers and children connected to the women’s prison. These are families walking through deeply complex and sensitive circumstances, and our role is to come alongside trusted local partners to bring support, discipleship, and the love of Christ where it is most needed.
Because of the nature of the mothers and children we are serving, we are careful about what we share publicly. We would be honored to speak more personally about this work and the vision behind it one-on-one.
